A writer with a business focus, Dave Whitaker works with companies and organizations across a range of industries in developing content and context that engages target audiences. Helping clients drive brand and business results, he produces copy for corporate brochures, websites, print ads, direct mailers, e-campaigns, and other marketing pieces and pens articles for annual reports, industry newsletters, and online publications. A strategic thinker, he often works closely with design firms to strengthen client positioning and shape key messages.
In the past decade, Dave has written a number of business-related books–including an anniversary publication for an international RV manufacturer and a coffee table book celebrating one of the world’s largest corporate yachts. He has ghostwritten a business biography and several books directed to healthcare professionals. Dave has also written three nonfiction books of his own, among them an oral history of a Chicago public housing project and a portrait of a venerable Chicago music club. With a background in journalism, he served as entertainment editor for eight community newspapers published by the Chicago Suburban Times and was a founding editor of StreetWise. His work has also been featured in the Chicago Reader, Chicago Journal, and Chicago Parent.
